Bio
Sthef Millán (b. 1995) is a contemporary artist. Born in Venezuela, she has lived in Argentina and Chile, and currently resides in Germany.
Her interest in art began at an early age: although largely self-taught, she formalized her studies with the renowned painter Patrizia Rizzo at age 17, alongside her university studies in Modern Languages, where she was influenced mainly by the existentialist movement with authors such as Sartre, Camus, and later Dostoyevsky.
In 2021, she began her collaboration with IBEX Masters, one of the world’s most extensive collections of realist figurative art, connecting and supporting dozens of artists, gallery owners, and contemporary art enthusiasts in America and Europe.
Today, she works on exploring and expanding her personal project as a multidisciplinary artist. She has had exhibitions in Miami, Caracas, New York, Santiago, London, and Germany.
Statement
Migration, identity, and the need to explore my inner world are the driving forces of my artistic practice.
My work explores the essence of existence: human raw emotions and the fragile threshold between the intimate and the infinite, inspired by experiences of adapting to new realities.
I work primarily with oil on canvas and watercolors, often starting from photographs or digital sketches as a language between the referential and the intuitive.
By subtly breaking with traditional procedures, I incorporate expressionist and abstract elements into my creations that I hope will invite emotional contemplation.
